LifeCore LC1000z Elliptical Trainer Review
The LifeCore LC1000z elliptical trainer is the upgrade to the compact LC985SV. The LC985SV won a Best Buy rating from a prestigious consumer magazine. Giving it the highest ranking for construction. The LifeCore LC1000z incorporates the best features of the LC985SV and adds some improvements to the engineering and design.
As mentioned, the LC1000z is a compact elliptical trainer. In fact, it is 52" long and 30" wide. That is considerably less space than most ellipticals or treadmills. The size makes it perfect for individuals with limited space. The smaller size also makes it easier to move around.
Features on the LifeCore LC1000z Elliptical Trainer
Adjustable Foot Pedals - You can move the pedals forward and backwards to find the perfect positioning for your stride. You can also target different muscles by changing the position of the pedals.
Sealed Ball Bearings in All Pivot Points - There are no bushings in the pivotal points, which can wear and loosen the mechanics after regular use. The bearings and joints are larger than on the LC985SV. It provides a very smooth and quiet elliptical motion.
Console - You get a bright and brilliant LED display, which provides simultaneous feedback like time, distance, pulse, watts, etc.
Workout Programs - There are 14 pre-set programs, in addition to user programs. This gives you a wide selection of programs, allowing you to change up your routine regularly. I personally alternate programs every time I work out on my elliptical. It breaks up the monotony.
Extended Warranty - The LifeCore LC1000z has one of the longest parts warranty in the industry. There is a generous 7-years parts and 1-year labor warranty.
Wireless Heart Rate Control - An upgrade over the LC985SV is wireless heart rate control. You can use your heart rate to define the level of your exertion. You also have heart rate monitors in the moveable handle bars. Most ellipticals have the monitors on stationary grips, which defeats the purpose of monitoring your heart when you can't incorporate the upper body workout.
Our Review - LifeCore LC1000z Elliptical Trainer
The LifeCore LC1000z is a quality engineered compact elliptical. It is obvious from the moment you get on it. The elliptical motion feel smooth and the mechanics are very quiet. The question is, do you want to pay an additional $400 over the LC985SV? That depends if you are interested in a slightly heavier machine, an extended warranty , heart rate control and a few other upgraded features.
Although this is one of the better compact elliptical trainers on the market. Be aware that compact models have some limitations. For example, they are not as stable as larger heavier cross trainers. They also have smaller strides. If you are a tall or extremely heavy, you may want to consider the front drive elliptical trainers from LifeCore. They weigh about 80 lbs. more and have a 25" longer length.
On a final note, one of the best features of the LifeCore LC1000z is the fact it is a low maintenance machine. It is extremely durable and has a very good service record. That's the feedback I get from a store that sells and services the LC1000z.
