LifeCore LC3000 Elliptical Trainer Review
I recently checked out several LifeCore elliptical trainers, including the LifeCore LC3000. They have three front drive models, and this is there least expensive, but by no means a budget crosstrainer.
These days you will find a number of elliptical trainers that try to WOW you with extraneous features in order to mask the lack of quality construction. In contrast, the LifeCore LC3000 focuses on superior engineering and design. This is reflected in a number of design features you often do not find in other models. That is why Lifecore is confident enough with the LC3000 that they will sell it into a commercial environment.
Features on the LifeCore LC3000 Elliptical Trainer
Solid Construction - What I particularly like about the LC3000 is the solid and stable feel. Part of the reason is that it is welded throughout. The majority of elliptical trainers have numerous bolted parts that can eventually loosen. I've been on floor models of elliptical trainers that were literally falling apart because the bolts were no longer tight.
It should also be noted that the Lifecore LC3000 weighs a hefty 210 lbs., which added to the overall stability.
Sealed Bearings in All Pivot Points - Sealed bearings are used throughout instead of bushing. Joints with bushings tend to wear, loosen and often be noisy.
21" Elliptical Stride - I find a longer stride preferable, even though I am average in height. If you are under 5'6" you may want a smaller 18" stride. But for average to taller user, the 21" stride will give you a more natural gate.
Narrow Pedal Spacing - One of the most common complaints, particularly from woman is the stress suffered from the pedals being too far apart. The LC3000 closes the gap between the pedals to further reduce stress and strain to your joints.
Other features include
cushioned foot pedals, 12 preset programs, including Polar compatible heart rate control programs and user define programs and a large multi-color screen that you can tilt.
Our Review - LifeCore LC3000 Elliptical Trainer
There are two features on an elliptical trainer that should be at the top of your list. First, durability. You do not want a machine that potentially will have service issues. All of the Lifecore products are known for being low maintenance, that includes the LC3000. Design features like sealed bearing in the pivot joints and welded construction add to the durability of this machine.
Second, you want a crosstrainer with a smooth elliptical motion - a motion that feels comfortable and natural. The LC3000 fits the bill. There was considerable effort put into the ergonomics of the elliptical stride so you end up with a motion that has less impact, while providing the best physical results. At this price range, this is one of the smoothest and quietest elliptical trainers you will find on the market.
However, the best endorsement for the LifeCore LC3000 is the fact that they also offer it for a commercial environment.
