LifeCore Elliptical Trainer Review
I've
been getting a number of requests for reviews on LifeCore
elliptical trainers. I've yet to test one out, so you can
take this review with a grain of salt or a rock.
There are two things that make the LifeCore ellipticals
appealing
They Are Compact All the LifeCore ellipticals
have small footprints. This makes them an ideal choice if
you have a very limited space to workout and store your fitness
equipment.
They Have Generous Warranties Four of their
models cover parts for 5-years, while their two top models
have 7-year coverage. Considering the retail price of the
ellipticals this is a very generous warranty. My only concern
is how responsive is their customer service.
My issues with LifeCore ellipticals
They Are Compact Yes, the small footprint makes
them ideal for people with limited space, however a large
footprint contributes to a more stable and solid machine.
This is particularly important for tall and heavy individuals.
They Are Lightweight - Three of their models weigh
less than 100 lbs, while two are around 137 lbs. These are
lightweight machines. I had a person contact me about LifeCore
and ask if they would be appropriate for her husband at 330
lbs. Both the compact design and the lightweight construction
does not make this an ideal choice. However, on their site
they suggest that some of their models can accommodate a person
up to 400 lbs. that is absurd.
The Hype I've been in the fitness equipment
business for a number of years and know who's who regarding
reviews and ratings. The one rating that LifeCore refers to
for a best buy is Consumer Guide. I can tell you that these
reviews are generally done without ever trying the equipment,
sort of like this review. In general, Consumer Guide is not
reliable. I have gotten best buys for the company I use to
work for without the reviewer trying out equipment.
Some of the other best buy ratings they promote are from
some very questionable sites. One site where they claim they
got a best buy does not have any contact information or details
on the reviewer.
However, on Amazon the five customer reviews were fairly
positive.
Our Review LifeCore Ellipticals
As I said, I've yet to try the LifeCore ellpticals, although
the little feedback I have gotten is that they are not bad
machines.
Their size and weight concern me. Also, lack of industry
recognition. I am also turned off by the type of hype found
on some of their product pages. An example is the LC-990
page. It sounds more like they are selling a get rich
info product than fitness equipment.
They also have a logo on their home page that says, "Head
of the Class Winner." You click on that and it mentions
several top ratings, most from the Fitness Professor, who
I have never heard of. In the reviews that mention the professor
it says, "Please click on the "Seal" for
further information." However, there is no seal to
click on. So who is this mysterious Fitness Professor?
All this makes me very leery of this company.
