Nautilus NE 2000 Elliptical Trainer Review

Nautilus NE Elliptical Trainer ReviewThe Nautilus NE 2000 elliptical is one of the best ellipticals in the $2,000 to $2,500. Although Nautilus is primarily known for the BowFlex strength machine, Nautilus actually makes some excellent fitness equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals and exercise bikes.

It has a premium LED console with hi-res 16 x 16 dot-matrix program profile display, and (4) window readout. This allows you to track various feedback at once. Comes standard with wireless heart rate control.

Equipped with articulating foot pedals so the angle of your feet conform to the elliptical motion. Less strain on your ankles and knees. The Nautilus NE 2000 has one of the better warranties, with ten year coverage on parts. This tells you that the machine is built with quality components, and they most likely will not wear out prematurely.

Fitness Source Nautilus E2000 Elliptical Review

We found the NE 2000 to be particularly smooth and quiet. It offers a nice selection of programs, and has one of the better designed consoles and displays. We agree with the one review in Epionions. If you are a tall user you may find the stride a bit too short.

Other than that there is little you can criticize about this machine. My only comment is that this machine competes with some top contenders, including the Life Fitness X3 and the Precor EFX 5.19.

Consumer Report Review

Consumer Report ranked ten elliptical trainers. Out of ten the Nautilus E2000 came in third. It surpassed Vision Fitness, but ranked below Precor and Life Fitness. The NE 2000 got top ratings for "Ease of Use" and "Quality".

Customer Reviews

We've had it almost two years (3/07).  Paid $2000.  Wasn't used much.  Arm going into frame on back is a square peg going into a square hole.  It has worn round. Foot pedal gets loose, clicks, then starts to separate. Can't be tightened.  Warrantee does not cover any moving parts, which is just about anything except electrical.  So now we're looking at a $300.-400. repair bill.  And the other side will probably do the same thing later.  Will not buy Nautilus again.
