The
ProForm 1050E elliptical trainer has a features that makes it a standout and which offers several benefits to the user — A power incline that goes from 10-40 degrees.
The
power incline on an elliptical is similar to the incline feature
on a treadmill. By adjusting the incline ramp, you can increase your
cardio workout, burn more calories and tone different parts
of your lower body (glutes, quads or calves). It allows you to burn more calories in less
time.
Note: The ProForm 1050E Elliptical Trainer typically sells for $799 with
shipping. Go to www.ProForm.com for the latest price.*
Furthermore, as you change the incline it will increase the stride length from 19" - 24". This allows you to adjust the stride to your personal preference.
The power incline also adds more variety to your workout. Rather
than changing the level of exertion by only the resistance,
you can vary by both resistance and the incline.
Other features on the ProForm 1050E include:
iFit Technology Compatible — iFit is a series of workout cards you plug into the elliptical. Each card has a number of progressive exercises designed by a certified professional trainer. In fact, one of the most popular series is by Jillian Michaels, the personal trainer on "Biggest Lower".
The cards control the level of resistance and focus on different areas of the body. They also provide audio coaching. iFit has become a big hit for NordicTrack.
20 Personal Trainer and 2 User Programs - The 1050E
offers a good selection of training programs design to achieve
fitness goals like weight loss and conditioning. You also get
two user programs that allow you to create your own workout
and save it for future use.

Gel Foot pedals - The pedals are made of soft rubber
that helps to avoid the numbness that can come with extensive
workouts. The gel like rubber further reduces impact and the
chance of straining tendons in your feet and ankles.
Built-in Fan - This fan actually throws out some breeze in comparison to other brands whose fans are a joke.
Built-in Speakers - The speakers are in the console and you can plug-in your iPod or MP3 player. Preferable to working out with headphones on, unless you don't want to disturb someone.
Our Review - ProForm 1050E Elliptical Trainer
There are two reasons to consider the ProForm 1050E — The Power Incline
Ramp and the budget price. This is one of the better values
at under $1,000. In fact, it is usually cheaper than the comparable NordicTrack 990 Pro.
Realize this is not a heavy duty elliptical trainer and it has some limitations. For example, the 350 lb. user weight limit is pushing it. I would place it at around 230 lbs. However, for the money it is one of the better values.
The basic design of this elliptical has been out for a few years. It has a good service record, and is a reasonably durable machine considering the price.
Overall, the ProForm 1050E is a good choice for someone
that wants an elliptical that will offer a variety of challenges,
but will not break the bank. That is why it is the most popular model.
