ProForm 650 T SpaceSaver Elliptical Review

ProForm 650 T SpaceSaver Elliptical Trainer ReviewFor the money you get a number of decent features on the ProForm 650 T SpaceSaver Elliptical Trainer. However, it is important to look beyond the "nifty" features and realize this is a budget elliptical, built with budget components.

It is not designed for heavy-duty use. This is a machine best suited for moderate use, and individuals who are of average height and not extremely overweight.

There are many people with a limited budget, who want to get back into shape and lose weight. They may question their commitment and have reservations about spending considerable money on a high grade machine. The ProForm 650 T SpaceSaver may be your best value if you fit this profile.

Note: As of 12/8/08 the ProForm 650 T was selling for $899 with shipping. It was $200 less last week. Go to www.ProForm.com for the latest deal.

Features on the ProForm 650 T SpaceSaver...

Adjustable Stride Length - You can change the stride length to 13", 15", or 18". Why would you want to adjust the elliptical stride? So you can focus you workout on different lower muscles like your glutes, calves, hamstrings and quads. It is also good for repositioning the pedals for a better individual fit.

Folding Mechanism - Don't buy this elliptical for the fact you can fold it. The reality is you only save about 20" in length. The real benefit of folding the 650 SpaceSaver, is it makes it easier to move around on the wheels.

10 Workout Programs - A selection of workout programs can add variety to your exercise and increase your motivation. On the 650 you get 10 workouts designed by a Certified Personal Trainer. The programs automatically adjusts the resistance of the elliptical. The different programs focus on aerobic, weight loss, or performance goals.

Sound System - There are speakers built in and you can plug in your iPod or MP3 player directly into the console.

Warranty - The fly wheel comes with a 7 year warranty, however the rest of the elliptical is only covered with 90-days parts and labor coverage. I would recommend you increase the coverage to 1-2 years. The cost is not that much and remember, this is a budget elliptical.

Our Review - ProForm 650 T SpaceSaver

For an inexpensive elliptical trainer you get some nice features, especially the adjustable stride. The elliptical motion is decent, but it does not have the smooth stride of higher-end machines. Hey, what do you expect for only $599.

This machine should only be considered for moderate use, and ignore their recommend user weight limit. I would not purchase this elliptical if you weigh over 225 lbs. Also, if you are over 6' you may want to consider a model with a 20" stride.
