Schwinn 428 Elliptical Trainer Review

The Schwinn 428 elliptical trainer is basically the 418 with two differentiating features. The Schwinn 428 has heart rate control and schwinn 428 elliptical trainerreverse action.

Like the 418 it is equipped with an articulating footplate. This allows your feet to follow the elliptical motion with out straining your feet or ankles. The pedal rise as you arc through your workout.

Fitness Source Review - Schwinn 418

As we mentioned in the Schwinn 418 review, overall this elliptical trainer is a good value. So the question is, do you want to pay an additional $300 for heart rate control and reverse action.

Heart rate control has the ability to regulate your workout based on your heart rate. Many feel that HRC has the benefit of optimizing your workout by keeping you in predesignated zones. To learn more about heart rate control click here.

The Reverse Motion allows you to work different muscle groups with the same exercise. Using machines with both the forward and reverse action, I find I seldom use the reverse motion. I know others who split up their workout using both directions.
