Vision Fitness S7200HRT Suspension Elliptical Trainer
I recently was at a fitness equipment specialty store, where I was talking to the General Manager. He was not all that keen on Vision Fitness ellipticals, which he sold, he felt their treadmills and exercise bikes where better quality. However, he referred to the Vision Fitness S7200HRT Suspension Elliptical Trainer as being "Awesome". Of course, awesome does not come cheap.
The Suspension Trainer is similar to the Smooth Agile and the Cybec Arc Trainer in that they do not incorporate the standard elliptical motion. The stride varies. For example, the stride on the S7200HRT is like a kidney bean that curves up. The design helps to activate more muscles than you would engage with a typical elliptical stride.
This type of motion engages the hips and knees and lets you bend a lot more. It recruits more muscles in the upper thigh. It is suspension type training, which evolves beyond the Precor incline concept. In addition, the overall engineering offers better posturing than you would find on other ellipticals.
Features on the Vision Fitness S7200HRT Suspension Elliptical Trainer
Adjustable Stride - You are able to vary the length from 20" to 23". This has the advantage of accommodating users of different heights. It also allows you to vary the stride and change-up your workout, thus exercising different muscles.
Incline Adjustment - You can change the incline from 13% all the way up to 39% and simulate a steep mountain climb. If you have ever climbed a mountain you know how much it kicks up your cardio.
Innovative Programs - In addition to the standard preset programs, you get a Glute Burn and Summit Hike program. The Glute Burn "prompts users to vary their stride speed and pedaling direction, while automatically changing incline levels to specifically target the glute (buttocks) muscles." The Summit Hike "changes incline levels to simulate hiking up a hill or mountain." Both programs add variety and help to motivate the user.
Close Foot Pedal Spacing - The foot pedals are less than 2" apart, which puts less stress on your hips. This is a particularly important feature for woman.
Dual Grip Handle Bars - By changing your positioning on the moveable handlebars you can focus on different parts of your upper body.
Our Review - Vision Fitness S7200HRT Suspension Elliptical Trainer
The bottom line is that the Vision Fitness Suspension Train does a better job of giving a low impact, weight bearing workout in comparison to your typical elliptical trainer. There was considerable research into the design of this machine. The result is a very "natural and correct full-body movement."
The price is a bit hefty and you need to compare features and prices to the Smooth and Cybec version to determine which best suites your budget and your fitness goals. However, the Vision Fitness S7200HRT Suspension Elliptical Trainer is an example of a new generation of machines that are taking cross training to a new and exciting level.
Customer Review
This is the best elliptical I have ever used, and that includes the two vision ellipticals I owned in the past and those Life Fitness and Precor's I have used at health clubs. It is smooth, quiet and a pleasure to use. The most expensive elliptical I have ever bought also, but worth the money for a long time investment in one's own health.
