Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym Review & Rating

Bowflex pr1000 home gym reviewOn average, the Bowflex PR1000 home gym has received fairly decent reviews from people who bought this particular model.  Perhaps one of the biggest complaints about this machine, however, is that it’s a bit of a chore to change the cables around for each exercise.  A few have experienced broken rods during workouts; but, the service department was quick to respond with new power rods.

Some buyers have stated that they wish they would have spent more money on one of the higher end Bowflex home gyms to get the extra resistance of more power rods.  The Bowflex PR1000 is not an upgradeable unit.

Note: As of 2/7/10 the Bowflex PR1000 was selling for $579 with shipping at Amazon.com. Where you can also check out customer reviews.

Assembly was quick and easy.  I was done in about an hour and a half and was and remain more than satisfied with the quality of this machine.  I am very impressed with its design and engineering.”

Our Review – The Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym

If you’re short on cash but really want a home gym, the Bowflex PR1000 is a decent, affordable fitness machine.  Just be aware that this model does have its limitations.

The maximum weight resistance you can get with the PR1000 is 210 pounds, and it is not an upgradeable model.  If you weigh more than 300 pounds, you need to consider spending more money for a higher end home gym.  Also, be prepared to change the power rods around for different exercises, and you may even have an occasional issue with a power rod.

The concept behind the Bowflex PR1000 home gym is the same as with the higher end Bowflex home gyms.  This one is simply not quite as high quality and cannot perform as many exercises as other models.
