The Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbells have a practical, innovative design.  Each dumbbell easily adjusts from 5 pounds to 52.5 pounds, combining 15 sets of weights into one dumbbell.  Instead of requiring a lot of space to store multiple weights, all you need is enough room for one set of weights.  Your workout area is kept tidy and clutter-free.

Now, the Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbells are not cheap!  If you aren’t very serious about sticking with your strength training, you might be better off going to Walmart and buying an inexpensive pair of dumbbells.  Nevertheless, these dumbbells have, for the most part, received rave reviews from customers who bought them.

The new innovative design of the Bowflex SelectTech 552 allows you to get up to 52.5 pounds of weight per dumbbell simply by turning a dial.  You can add weight in 2.5-pound increments up to the first 25 pounds.  This allows you to gradually build up your strength and tone your muscles without getting bulky.  After the first 25 pounds, weight can be added in 5-pound increments up to 50 pounds.  Then, the last weight is 2.5 pounds.

There are definitely more affordable dumbbells on the market than the Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbells.  In fact, the old-fashioned weights are cheaper and practically indestructible. 

However, if you are looking for a dumbbell weight system that makes changing weights a breeze and occupies a fraction of space than the SelectTech is a the obvious choice.

The reviews on Amazon.com were very positive. Forty-two customers gave the SelectTech 4.5 stars out of 5. There were a number of very satisfied customers who bought the Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbells.  They tend to appreciate the fact that these dumbbells do not take up much space, and it is quite easy to increase or decrease the amount of weight on each unit. 

A few people were concerned that these dumbbells felt a bit flimsy and wobbly between the plates.  Others said they noticed very little, if any, wobbling or jingling with the SelectTech 552 dumbbells.
