Bowflex Ultimate 2 home gym reviewIf you are looking into buying a serious weight machine, take a look at the Bowflex Ultimate 2.  The Ultimate 2 offers over 95 different exercises to strengthen and sculpt muscles, as well as to improve your endurance and cardiovascular health.

You can get many of the same strenght benefits with a lower-end Bowflex home gym, such as the Bowflex Ultimate XTLU, however the Ultimate 2 also offers a cardio workout.

In addition, the Ultimate 2 home gym is built sturdier and is more durable than the cheaper models. It is also backed by a 12-year warranty, with a lifetime warranty on the Power Rods.  In fact, the Bowflex Ultimate 2 home gym is close to commercial-quality in its construction.

Note: As of 1/31/12 the BowFlex Ultimate 2 Home Gym was on sale for $1,750 at www.Amazon.com/BowFlex. They dropped the price $249.

There are two main benefits of the Bowflex home gyms.  First, they offer a wide range of exercises.  You really can get a full body workout from this one machine.  Second, the Bowflex gyms are very compact in comparison to other strength machines that work with pulleys and weights.

I decided to purchase a Bowflex when my trainer told me she was increasing her rates. Since working out with my Bowflex I can see my body changing and I'm not in as much pain, especially my joints. Thank you so much for a wonderful piece of equipment. I'm telling everyone I know to buy a Bowflex.” (This is from the Bowflex site.)

Our Review – The Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym

Although the Bowflex Ultimate 2 home gym is a bit pricey, it very well may be worth its cost.  It is a well-built home gym that can set you free from your local fitness center and let you get a total body workout in the comfort and privacy of your own home. And in fact it is one of the top sellers for Bowflex. You just need to consider your workout requirements and determine if you can get by with one of the less expensive units.

Not only can you strengthen and tone your muscles, but you can use the rowing machine part of this home gym to get a wonderful aerobic workout, which is a plus.  The Power Rods on the Bowflex Ultimate 2 home gym will probably take some getting used to if you’re accustomed to using free weights.  Once you get used to them, however, you just may discover that you really prefer them to free weights.  Although some body building fanatics preferred free weights to Bowflex home gyms.

If you’re really into physical fitness, or planning in getting back into shape the Bowflex Ultimate 2 home gym is definitely a consideration.  It gives you a thorough selection of exercises, while taking up minimal space.  This is why there have been literally tens of thousands of these machines sold.
